From dedicated classroom stations to retail displays, there are plenty of reasons why a wall-mounted tablet can be useful. If you’re wondering how to mount your tablet to the wall, then this article is for you. Here are some tips and ideas for tablet wall mounting in your business.
Magnetic and Adhesive Mounts
Our magnetic mounts give you a versatile mounting solution so the tablet is not permanently mounted to the wall. This is great for bringing flexibility to your device while also meeting ADA compliance. If someone is unable to see the screen, simply pull it off the wall and put it back when you’re done.
Installing a magnetic wall mount is relatively simple. Install the bracket on the wall, following the instructions for how to mount your tablet to the wall. Once the bracket is in place, you’ll need to install the steel plate on your tablet. This is the part that will keep your tablet in place. The back of the steel plate is adhesive, so you just press it to the back of your tablet.
Tip: Clean the back of your tablet with isopropyl alcohol or acetone to remove any oils or debris and ensure proper adhesion. It’s also a good idea to do this when mounting a tablet on the wall if you’re using one of our wall mounts for glass.
Universal Mounting
Using a universal tablet mounting wall bracket is the best idea for mounting a holder or enclosure that meets the VESA standard. This standard is clear and easy to understand, so anyone can figure out how to mount their tablet to the wall bracket and attach it to the wall.
It’s important to note that some products sold as universal brackets are not designed to be permanent mounts. They are often a low-cost solution that can provide an easy way to hold tablets throughout the day temporarily but are not acceptable as a permanent wall mounting solution.
Universal VESA Mounting Solutions
Adopting the VESA standard answered a major question faced by installers who work with a variety of tablet brands. That is, how to mount the tablet enclosure to the wall bracket when different manufacturers make both parts.
The VESA standard specifies a 100mm x 100mm or 75mm x 75mm square bolt-hole pattern that eliminates guesswork. This standard can attach devices that match this specification to any bracket.
The following types of mounts brackets use VESA standards, making them highly adaptable.
- Angled Mounts – This type of bracket is designed to hold the tablet away from the wall at a preset angle that cannot be changed. They may be equipped with a swivel base. These products are cost-effective and dependable. They can feel more friendly to some users, which may change how guests interact compared to how they use tablets mounted flat to the wall.
- Swing-Arm Mounts – Swing-arm brackets have a jointed arm that allows the tablet to be moved left and right or up and down.
- Articulated Mounts – Like swing-arm mounts, they contain a multi-jointed arm that provides 360-degree tablet positioning instead of limiting movement to a vertical or horizontal axis.
